A tribute to friends ...

I don't know why but I went back to aeab's blog today. I was too sleepy and bored to do work so I browsed through his blog. Lo and behold, I found a blog he posted 2 days after my wedding. I read the blog a couple of times .. a week after my wedding. Still, I smiled after reading it again.. aeab .. yeap.. I am a serious person. Cikapot and ciputss is my trademark in ping pong games. But you've improved alot... so officially, you are no longer in the women's league la abu. You beat be 2-1 last week remember? I've lost it...can't even take up a fast ball anymore and stamina dah kaputzs....

A Tribute to Friends : NJ & Kroll

Sis NJ

Firstly I'm sorry because of the late entry; monday was on leave..got monday blues..

Sunday 11th April 2004, one of my best buddy (or buddete?) got married at Keramat. Sis NJ married a handsome gentlemanly guy from Kerala India. Went there with zane Jusco's turbo car with Karl.

From zovic and nago's house a fleet of zovic's, kamusdewan's, zane jusco's went to NJ's wedding; actually after receiving info from our spy there; she informed us tru sms the wedding will take place at 1:30 pm.

We went there, shaked her father's hand, and jokingly asked him "camne pak cik akad nikah tadi ok ker? " holding my thumbs up..he replied in the midst of the blazing speaker..(ooh mister DJ...no hindi please!!!!) mumbled something..what i can heard only "...lamaaaa jugaaklaah..."..I just smiled a bit..not understanding what he was saying..(mental note kena tanya ni cik nita..apo jadi)...

went to eat, shared a table with zovic, nago, zaini kuantan, zane jusco, karllube and imran. Around 1:30 the groom arrived, complete with ala amitabh bachan's dressing with his best man, the kompangs drumming..saw nj with her wedding dress accompanied by nita. NJ with her ala ct nurhaliza eyelashes looks superb.

Seeing those two mempelai and not forgetting the ever mengancam kak pengapit..my mind wonders to the days when i first meet NJ..

I'm not sure exactly how we meet, when i was first worked in ITD, she was already a senior. But i can say she was a serious and dedicated women commits bout her job..wow one margeret thatcher is is coming..i always mused to myself whenever saw her passed by.

My closed relationship with Nj started when we played pingpong together as a team and rival. Not one day gone by where we didnt faced each other in the fiercest game of ping pong..sister's level; actually my styled of ping pong hasnt improved till now, still in the women's league..but who could deny that powerful lashing of her right hand... i've been reduced to a mere budak kutip bola..instead of a player. such was the tremendous righthand lashes.

cipuuutsss....was her trademark...no where else can you find this.....and her frowned face..could make a shiny day to rain cats and dogs..heheh ciputss

However, if given a task, she'll transformed into a committeed and serious worker. In an argument she'll become a menacing tiger..meanwhile all the other member will suddenly transformed into small tiny ants..cipuuts..

Without her, there is no IOP for us last year..and the year before that...

The DJ suddenly recites few do'a for the well being and happiness of the groom and bride, ameen.

I do wish her well and happiness and she can suitably adjust her self with the new environment and new cultures that she'll encounter in India.

on the way back, with zane jusco's turbo charged car...guns and roses' civil war blazing tru the speaker...my mind keep on wonderin' would NJ be returning back to ITD or are her days are numbered?...

What ever it is..we will be missing you NJ and all the best on oyur future endeavour.

Happy New Year 2006!!!!

Atlast, 2005 has come and gone. Now we embrace the year 2006. So many things has happened these past couple of months. There was the issue of reshuffling within our department. As usual there will be people who are resistant to change and those who are accepting with an open mind. Then again a directive is a directive.. you can't do much about it.
Tomorrow will be eid-ul-haj. I haven't prepared anything and I didn't even take leave for that matter. Hmm I've started going swimming again last week. I have to regain back my stamina... after a year out of the pool, I could only swim half of the swimming pool .. lepas tu semput!!! And about Naureen, she has started crawling (not shuffling)!one moment she is sitting idle beside you and the next she's all over the place. Putting on nappies and dress has become a great task as she wriggles and crawls away. Her laughter and smile is the medicine to ones headache. Playing peek-a-boo and god knows what .. is a beautiful memory carved in time. Arshad has started to run his own restaurant business .. apart from the other business ... he has been busy for quite sometime but he has more time with Naureen than I do. Anyways until next time, Have a good holiday and Eid Mubaraq to all our muslim friends out there!

Milestone

Semalam cuti, spent 3/4 of the day at Immigration Putrajaya and JPN di Maju Junction. Why? Arshad kena renew work permit dia .. alhamdullillah dapat yearly work permit.. kalau tidak kena renew every 6 months.. penat tu and yg terkejut tu fee yg dikenakan is MYR 2100.00. Lupa gomen dah naikkan fee visa. Kalau tidak .. 100 sebulan plus handling fee of 150 so would come around MYR 1350.00. Penatnya tunggu di bahagian Spouse Programme ... mentang-mentang org yang nak berurusan tak ramai .. dia sediakan 2 kaunter je .. lepas tu pegawai yg jaga datang 20 ..30 minit sekali .. boleh pula berbual 10 minit pastu baru tekan butang nombor berikutnya.. aduszzz..Berurusan dgn gomen ni mmg kena banyak bersabar. Kemudian pi Maju Junction ambil MYKID naureen...tu kejap 20mins je. I thought office hour starts back at 2.00 pm, but org jaga kaunter datang balik jam 2.30 pm .. adeii adeii adeii. Mana la orang tak mencemuh kakitangan kerajaan...bila tgk mcm tu .. agak-agaknya kita di office kita ni mcm mana ye .. perasaan orang bila try to call 2.30 ttp kita takde .. masih lagi dok melepak di cafe`. Agaknya kalau di private sector dah kena sack kot ... sbb membazir duit company. :-P (kita complain psl service gomen .. kita pun kerja gomen .. kita buat tak apa yg dia orang buat?? Tu yg buat aku terfikir kejap .. duh)Then pi beli fisher-price baby piano utk naureen ... for her to play and gosh bila pasang .. melompat-lompat cik naureen kita. Btw, naureen dah boleh menjelar sekarang .. but moving backward instead of forward. Pagi tadi around 2.30 am. arshad kata, dia menjelar dari hujung ke hujung cot. Dah besar naureen ye... habis semua nak dibuat.. I've started her with solid food .. bila suap je dgn sudu, sudu tu le dia pi pegang masuk dlm mulut. Bila bagi botol susu, tu pun dia nak pegang sendiri. She has also started rolling to her side, from front to her back and from her back to the front. She has started picking up objects and likes to touch fabrics. Cuma satu je .. bila introduced solid, dia dah kurang minum susu ... was it a mistake to introduce solid at 4mon... should I've started at 6 mon??? But she has all the signs of a baby yg ready utk makan solid. Nevermind lah, as long as she is healthy and happy! Her next check-up at Ampang Puteri is on the 3rd December. I wander what Dr Haliza will say to Naureen ...

Working Towards Excellence

Yesterday's training was great. We had a role-play session and my role was an angry mother enquiring on the whereabouts of her son who has been MIA for the past 3 weeks in the university. After that some of my friends said "Liza .. macam mak tiri ... takuttttt" he he he he. It was great ... i love every seconds of the training! In one session, we were told to blow a balloon and draw three separate sections. I have to write down my possitive attitude in one section, 2nd section my negative attitudes and lastly self improvement to minimise the negative attitudes. So after ponding for few minutes, I started to write down the positive side of myself. Agree or not ?? Comment le kalau rasa tak betul .. I can accept criticisim tapi jangan lah sampai menusuk kalbu he he he. Here goes .....

+ve attitude ::

  • I am a good communicator and able to express my ideas clearly (hope so ...)
  • I am considered friendly when I opened up to people ... You need to get to know me more than 2 days for me to more nicer and friendlier to you.BUT (ada but but tu...) If you screw up and buat nasty things to me ... I'll make you my number one enemy!Iyolah .. minta maaf dari hujung rambut sampai hujung kaki lepas tu buat lagi kan .. kan .. kan .. agak-agaknya siapa ye ;-)
  • I love to learn. Doesn't matter whether it is technical or non-technical ... education is precious.
  • I listen to people .. and when listening to grievances and complaints .. i try to listen to both parties and try not to assume bad things ... Or I would meet and ask'em straight rather than gossiping and backbiting. (This is a lesson learned...utk dijadikan iktibar)
  • I love working with people and very affectionate to those who really understands me ..
  • I am committed and dedicated to my work and do the best to my ability in accomplishing the task at hand.

-ve attitude::

  • I am a very sensitive/upset easily when I hear people gossipping and telling lies behind my back. Then, I get very very angry .. and display my horrible horrible anger... satu office boleh dengar kita menjerit la kalau dah marah sangat. :-P
  • When theres too many work and obligations, I tend to mismanage my work and become disorganise
  • Then, I tend to forget things until the very last minute.. alas.. menggila-gila buat kerja supaya meet dateline
  • I am also easily stressed when things come in one big pile with short datelines
  • I think too much about what others think about myself
  • I tend to procrastinate when I get bored or when theres too much work and I wouldn't know where to start off.

Self Improvement ::

  • I have to be more proffesional when it comes to work and when dealing with difficult subordinates
  • I have to take things easy and do it one at a time. Take time off ... and then start back.
  • I need to prioritize my work and ensure datelines are kept.
  • I need to update my logbook daily and frequently. I need to have a to do list ready for the next day and at the end of the day .. do a check list of the task that I have yet to complete.
  • I must not dwell on matters and I should not think too much of what others think. I won't get anything or move forward if semuanya revolves on those people.
  • Move On .. Move forward ... and be happy

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri II

I came back to work on the 10th of November 05 and was baraged by numerous to do things. Boredom invaded my thoughts and left me numb to the core. ISO certification is also around the corner...and that worries me to bit also as there so many things that have yet to be settled. But then today, I attended a training on Working towards excellence with some of officemate. That gave my spirit a boost that is needed badly! Renewed responsibilities and commitments, positive and negative attitudes on work, motivation to excel at work and customer service. Things that I have forgotten. When you have been working in a relax manner for a number years you became forgetful of your responsibility .. your dedication ... commitment and obligation towards the organisation/employer that is paying you to do the task efficiently and effectively. I am eager to learn more and can't wait for tomorrow's session.. Insyallah ... the trainer told us theres going to be a role-player session... that will be very interesting in deed!!!

Here is a studio pictures with the family that was taken during the 3rd day of Eid to share with all of you. My pumpkin is getting bigger by the day ....

Baby_1Naureen is 4 1/2 months and counting. She looks a bit frightened as there were this old chinese guy with a tamburine making so much noise to attract her...

Sunday, October 30th, 2005

Selalunya kami akan beraya di rumah dulu and because emak is the eldest sister, her siblings will come to our house. Selepas itu kami akan bergambar sakan la :-P … studio mana ye nak pergi … kena tanya abah … maybe a week or two after Eid, kami akan adakan Aqiqah untuk Naureen. Rasa lambat sangat dah .. umur 4 bulan tapi tak laksanakan lagi aqiqah… tak elok asyik tangguh tangguh .. rezeki ada ni .. baik percepatkan .. kerling sikit pada arshad :-) Okay lah .. nak sambung kerja .. siapkan surat menyurat kepada users .. kemudian time-off bayar bill di Taman Sri Rampai..

Lastly, kepada rakan-rakan sekalian, pandu kereta tu biar cermat .. jangan bawa laju-laju nanti padah menimpa … Selamat Bercuti dan jumpa lagi pada 10hb Oktober 05.

Wassalam

Lonely at the Top by Patricia Wallington

Thursday, October 20th, 2005

Congratulation! You have just been selected from among your team members to become the new CIO. A promotion is always exciting, but it comes with a challenge: how to get a good start as the new boss of your former colleagues. Don’t assume that your existing relationships with colleagues will continue as before. Some of them who also aspired to the position may be jealous. Former pals may no longer welcome you to their social gatherings. A resentful few may even try to sabotage you. Meanwhile, you may have to treat differently those who ermain your friends so that you don’t appear to be playing favourites. And you will have a new set of alliances to build among both former colleagues and the senior managers whose ranks you have joined.

::Passive-aggresive colleagues::
When you become the boss, your former peers will fall into one of four categories : leavers, testers, passive resisters and boosters. Leavers are those who, for a variety of reasons, won’t stick around. Let them go. Holding on to people who have already psychologically separated themselves from the organisation is, at best, a temporary victory. You will find it easier to rally the organisation behind you when those who are dissatisfied are gone. Testers are uncertain about your leadership. They will find ways to challenge your style of management and your expectations of your staff. Passive resisters will test your patience as they disagree with every idea. Even when they express agreement, they will often follow their own agenda anyway. Boosters are those who are happy to be working with you and they’ll tout your leadership to others. They are your allies because some connection you shared has created a positive relationship.

Redefine your relationships
Now that you’re in charge, you will need to balance the pull of the past with the requirements of the new job, which will call for you to play a bigger role in the operation of the company!
