I despise Malaysian politics. Everytime when its nearing the election all stuff starts to crop up. It does no good to the citizens. Today there's the Bersih demonstration in KL from the opposition and then there will also be anti-Bersih demonstrators and of course spectators!
Normally, today we would be at the KLCC playground with the children. But today, we opt to have breakfast at home and stay home! It would be much safer. Just don't understand why these people want to demonstrate in the city centre. The police already told them that they can demonstrate outside of KL. Police are everywhere.. major roads in KL are blocked. Even yesterday there was a long traffic jam at the Karak Toll Plaza .. traffic was so freakin slow at DUKE and at other major highways. Whats their motives anyways? We don't feel safe! Hmm.. even my mom was quite upset everytime these people (regardless whether they are Pro Government or Opposition) start to demonstrate! Well she went through 13th May 1969 !!! Who wouldn't!!! She even asked whether I have enough food or milk if.. if something goes wrong today. Hish!
Hmm just hope all is well today.. all I heard from home is sirens.. sirens.. sirens. I read in the Online paper..hundreds were detained. Tried to follow the updates via thestar.com.my - even that also was diverted to a less graphic site due to heavy traffic! Whatever it is .. I hope some good will come out of this event.. hopefully those detained will be released eventually.. to my government and the opposition ... Malaysian first.. okay?

ISTAC - Kuala Lumpur Campus
There's one place I prefer going to for training or just go to visit .. its ISTAC. One of its kind .. when you step inside .. you'll feel like your're put into a time machine back to the Islamic Civilization in Spain. I guess thats what Syed Naquib Al Attas tried to potray when designing or maybe conceptualizing the development of the ISTAC buildings. It just takes your breath away... when I go there early in the morning before attending trainings .. I would just walk along the corridors lit by the morning sun or just gazed out the balcony which overlooked Jalan Duta and Kuala Lumpur. Its just beautiful!
Here's some information taken from the official website of ISTAC -
"The International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization (ISTAC) was founded on 27th February, 1987. It was officially launched by then Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamed on 4th October, 1991 as a research and postgraduate institution offering degrees in Islamic civilization and Islamic science.
The campus consists of a main administration and academic building, a library, a mosque and a conference hall. From 1991 to 2002, ISTAC was an autonomous body affiliated to the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). However, in 2002, it was made a Kulliyyah of IIUM.
On 6th May 2010, ISTAC and IIiBF was officially launch by HRH Sultan of Pahang and to be known as the IIUM Kuala Lumpur Campus"

A hotel review - Le Waterina Boutique Hotel
The Front Facade
They do not have bath tub ... only shower
This was the same room we stayed .. very spacious and affordable.. The kids were running all over the place :-)
They do not have bath tub ... only shower
This was the same room we stayed .. very spacious and affordable.. The kids were running all over the place :-)The Sky Deck - We had breakfast here .. it was very windy and eventhough it was nearing 11.00 am and the sun was shining bright .. it was not hot at all.
My family and I went to Chennai in February to visit relatives.. We visited wajju bhaiyya's family and also Arshad's youngest uncle and his grandmother. The children had a great time playing on the roof top with the cousins whom they met for the first time. Samreen has grown tall and very intelligent since the last time I met her. Now she's 10 going on 11 .. such a brilliant young lady! Naureen looks up to her. Anyways, the visit to Chennai was brief and we spent the night at a 3 Star Hotel - Le Waterina Seaside Hotel which is located in Thiruvanmiyur, Kottivakam Beach, Chennai.
Having breakfast with Daddy
Having breakfast with DaddyIt was just an overnight stop over but I wished that we could stay longer. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful! So here's some of review on the web regarding The Boutique Hotel. It is 4 km from the Crocodile Bank and 12 km from Chennai Central Railway Station. Anna International Airport is 15 km away. Waterina’s rooms come equipped with minibars and tea/coffee makers. Soundproofed rooms have trouser presses and offer flat-screen TVs. Rooms offer views of Bay of Bengal or the garden.
Guests can work out in the fitness centre or head for a relaxing massage. A concierge desk takes care of guests’ requests and needs. Sightseeing arrangements can be made at the tour desk.
Authentic Indian cuisine is served at Zaica, while offering panoramic sea views. Alternatively, drinks can be enjoyed in the bar and lounge. Room service is also available.
The Bay of Bengal
The food - Well being asians .. we do not have issues or problems eating authentic Indian food .. we have loads of 'em in Malaysia so in India .. its just the same. The price is quite cheap for a 3 Star Hotel and we're not that picky about food .. so to us it was DELICIOUS!
This menu is for ordering in .. if you want English breakfast .. just go to the Sky Deck. You'll get sausages, toasts, cereals, a variety of eggs, fresh fruits, juices, yougurt, chapati and dals. For lunch, it costs us less than RM 40 for all four of us...
The menu ... hmm what should we eat .. then 30 minutes later ...
Delicious fried chicken and fries, chapatis and curries and white rice with lentil dals and vegetables.
Midnight - we were all tired but when entered the room, we were overwhelmed by the room.. we had a very good night sleep!A simple message by Maxis

I love things that make you happy

What would make you happy?
- A stroll in the park with two kids on tow
- Waking up and staring at a contented face who has all his loved ones around him
- ravishing on a simple home cooked dish and finishing it all
- a great cricket game and India won the World Cup?
- Watch a good movie - your choice of course
- Listening to naureen's and ayman's voice screaming daddy!!! on the phone
- Be a family again and not being apart
.....
